~ cAn We gEt a LiFt? ~

My parents opened the cabin at Bear Lake on Memorial Day weekend. It was cold. Like snowing, freezing cold. Don't believe me? Here's proof...

For a breif period of time on Saturday morning it wasn't raining or snowing, so my dad and Caleb decided to fill that time replacing the side facia that had fallen off during the winter. They had to rent a lift out of Montpellier, Idaho to do it because it was too high to reach off a ladder. Plus it gave them an excuse to play around on a big piece of construction equipment, which I'm convinced is the reason boys become contractors in the first place...

At this point in the operation, I was freezing my butt off, so I went inside. Therefore there are no pictures of the finished product, but you get the idea, it's fixed.

The rest of the weekend we sat huddled up inside trying to stay warm and entertaining ourselves playing games, watching movies, and doing crafts. It was a lot of fun, but we can't wait until it warms up so we can play outside!

Caleb has been friends with Jake since grade school. He now lives in Rupert, Idaho. About once a year he shows up for a few days and  stays with us. This was a pretty quick trip for him. He came on Thursday, June 16th and headed home early Saturday, June 18th. The reason for this trip was for his youngest brother's wedding in Lehi. Here are some pics from his stay...

(On a side note, can I just say that I have hands down the world's most handsome husband! SeRiOuSLy!! Look at him, isn't he a stud muffin?! )

Anyway..
We enjoyed Jake's company and can't wait to see him again! :)

HeLLo!
:)
You don't need to tell me how incredibly behind I am on blogging. Trust me, I'm aware. :) I'm hoping that now that it's SuMmEr and I'm off work (execpt for tutoring and teaching summer school)for a couple months, I can catch up! So, I'm kind of going out of order here and starting with the most recent stuff and working backwards. Why? I'm not sure, I just feel like it, and I do what I want, gosh! ;) So here goes...

Caleb and I got a grill from his parents when they got a new grill about 4 years ago. It wasn't exactly in the prime of it's life when we got it and last summer it passed away. Tragic, I know. Really it was sort of tragic because we LOVE food cooked on the grill. There's just something about food being cooked outside with fire that makes it uber delish. Plus since Caleb is the King of the Grill, it saves me from actually having to cook- SCORE!

It finally started trying to be summer time around here and it has been warm enough to actually go outside, so Caleb decided it was time for a new grill. I didn't get a picture of our old grill before Caleb took it to the dump, but here's the new one. We've pretty much BBQed every night since we got it!

I'm sure we will be enjoying tons of BBQed meals this summer and for many summers to come!

~ wiNteR 2010 ~

Caleb and I forgot to take pictures of Christmas (horrible I know), so we only have a couple pictures of us from Christmas time.

We used this picture for our Christmas cards this year.

We saw the cat hat last year after Christmas on sale at Target for like $0.50, so I decided to buy it, because it's hilarious (obviously). Pepper was actually surprisingly good while we were taking the picture, but I'm pretty sure he didn't enjoy it much..

Snow isn't quite as enjoyable as it was when I was a kid, but we try to enjoy the snow as much as we can while it's winter time (since it's practically winter for 6 months in Utah).. Since Caleb and I don't ski or snowboard, we mostly have fun by throwing snowballs. This is Caleb throwing snowballs at our next door neighbor while he was trying to shovel his driveway.. Our neighbors love us, I'm sure...

Winter should be over in about two more months, and we hope time goes fast because we're both getting cases of spring fever!

I know that Halloween was forever ago, but this picture is for my mom. She wants to see the awesome witch hat I got at Gardner Village at their annual Witches Night Out festival and I keep forgetting to show her, so I figured it would be easy to just put it on the blog. I have to dress up for work, so I wore my awesome hat and went as a witch! Easy enough costume for me. :)

~ dEeR hUNt 2010 ~

Caleb goes deer hunting every year he draws out.
His age group has a lot of hunters in it, so he only draws out about every other year. So far he hadn't ever gotten a deer. The deer hunt in Utah is at the end of October, so sometimes it's still warm but sometimes it's already snowed, depending on the year. This year the weather was horrible. It was FREEZING cold and rained and snowed every day of the hunt. He was only able to go out 3 (half days) out of 5 days because the weather was so crappy. On the very last day, right as it was getting dark, he had a good shot at a spike, so he decided to take it.

As an animal lover, it is sometimes hard to be married to someone who likes to kill them (well, deer at least). But I was actually pretty excited for Caleb because he had gotten his first deer!

~ iT's BeEn A wHiLe, LeT me TeLL yOu WhY ~

I'm totally aware that it has been a LONG time since I last blogged. Not that anyone reads this, but if you do and you have been wondering if we have fallen off the face of the planet, we haven't. There's nothing exciting I can blame my absence on.

Work has been crazy!

At the beginning of the school year, the 6th grade teacher that I aide for was MIA for 6 weeks. Her husband had heart surgery and she took work off to help him recover. SO, I was the substitute for that time. I did win this though...

After the 6th grade teacher came back, things went back to normal for a couple of weeks. THEN a math teacher in our middle school left, SO I became a middle school math teacher for a month. I have a huge soft spot for all the middle school kids at my school because I was their aide when they were in 6th grade. I was even the 8th graders 6th grade teacher for a half a year when their teacher left. Today was my last day as their teacher because they hired a new teacher that will start after Christmas break. I have to say that I am really going to miss those middle school students. I loved seeing them every day! I am pretty excited to see the 6th graders again though, so I guess I can't be too sad.

So, now that life is back to normal (at least for a little while I hope!) AND I'm on break until Jan. 3rd, I can catch up with my blogging!

We'll be seeing you soon!
