~ Mission Craft Room: Complete ~

I consider myself kind of crafty. I'm pretty sure my love of crafts came from my super, fantasically crafty mom. So I've been dying for a place to craft where I don't have to put everything away right in the middle of something to make dinner or whatever. So I decided to try to make some sort of craft room.

If I were a rich woman, I would have a whole ENTIRE room, all to myself, where I could go and craft until the cows came home. I envision it to look something very similar to this, only even more fabulous and amazing...

Sadly, I am not a rich woman, but I do know how to make do with what I have, so the craft room is compelete, almost...

So, here is the before, just incase you have forgotten what it looked like...

Now keep in mind before you see the after pictures, that I spent very little money, like maybe $20, and that this room is also: a spare bedroom, computer room, and storage area for extra crap Caleb and I seem to need...

My mother-in-law gave me an extra folding table she had for free, and we all know free = automatically awesome. I already had all the storage containers, except for the 12x12 paper one. I kept them in a corner of our kitchen, so really I only had to buy one container. The walls are really bare, but I'm okay with that for right now...

This picture of basically the same thing, I'm just proving that there is still a bed in the room.

Recognize the bookcase? Yes it is the old, ghetto one from the front room that was replaced. I am still planning on painting it, like a mentioned before. Infact, if you look on top of the bookcase, you can see a blue spray paint can. That's what color it's going to turn as soon as I get the ambition to do it. Pretty much the only other purchase I made for the room was the magazine holders, they were super cheap from IKEA. The shoe box on the top currently has ribbon in it. I am patiently waiting for my husband to make a ribbon holder to replace it.. cough, cough.. ;)

This is showing the same thing, it's just proving that there is still a computer in there.

This is supposed to be showing the closet. I'm aware it doesn't show it very well, however I didn't really feel like taking anymore pictures of a room, so this is as good as it gets. The closet is bascially storage for misc. or big craft supplies and all the other things we like to store.

So there you have it! There are a few, little details that need to get finished, but it's pretty much done. Now I have a wonderful place to craft all to myself. Plus, Caleb says I really just like to buy craft supplies and look at them instead of actually use them, well now they're all orgainzed neat and fancy so I can stare at them to my little heart's content.

Oh, but P.S. You know what this room is seriously missing? That's right, you guessed it, a sewing machine! Maybe, just maybe, I'll get one for my birthday. Hint, hint Caleb... ;)

~ bOriNg oL' YaRd WoRk ~

So, I am about a week behind on blogging stuff but I don't really feel like making one giant post or putting up a bunch of posts all in one day, so I'm just going to blog once a day for a while until I catch up...

On the same day Caleb and I saw the kits (baby foxes), we had been working in our yard. We put in new mulch, weeded, and planted a Dwarf Alberta Pine in a whiskey barrel. We got this awesome old steel wheel at an equipment auction about two months ago and were finally able to put it out...

Getting ready to plant the tree...

All planted!

Yes, the wheel is chained and locked to the post of our house. Caleb thinks someone will steal it if we just leave it out. I promise we don't live in the ghetto... although if we did live in the ghetto, we probably wouldn't need to put a chain and lock around an old piece of farm equipment because no one would really want it in the ghetto...

~ FoXy bAbY ~

Last weekend Caleb and I went on a Rhino ride down the canal road near my parents house. On our ride we saw three of these cute little guys running around. By the time we got our camera out, there was only one left who wanted to pose for us. I sure do think he's a cutie and I'm glad he stuck around long enough for us to snap a few pictures!

~It'S tHe SiMpLe ThiNgs iN LiFe tHaT mAke Me sMiLe~

The last time I posted, I talked about how it was supposed to "rain" the next day, and well, we all woke up to this...

Poor sad tulips right? Poor sad Andrea is more like it.. Anyway, it snowed and snowed all through the beinning of May and it was very depressing. SO, FINALLY seeing my beautiful tulips bloom makes me smile...

It's getting close to the end of the school year (15 MORE SCHOOL DAYS!!! but who's counting??) Needless to say, it's getting harder and harder to get myself to work with my happy face on. However, seeing these little guys wandering the parking lot every morning, makes me smile...

Getting flowers on Mother's Day even though I'm not a mom, definatly makes me smile. These are from Caleb's mom and my brother and sister in law, Al and Kim. I'm pretty sure they were charity flowers as to not make me feel sad that all the other girls in the family got flowers and I didn't, but whatever, flowers are flowers right?

Going to my mom and dad's house always makes me smile, but seeing this big, fatty squirrel makes me smile even bigger. He has lived under my dad's shed forever. I wish I could've gotten a better picture of him because he is one of the largest squirrels I've ever seen. Next time I have my camera over there I will make it my mission to capture a full body shot, so that you too can awe at his size.

Having a craft room complete, also makes me smile. However, the craft room is not yet complete. It should be done this weekend. As soon as it's finished, I'll post a picture. I'm sure you'll all be amazed at how I fit so much crap into such a tiny room.
