~ aNd wE'rE baCk tO pReSenT tiMe! ~

So, I'm pretty much caught up with blogging! Yay for me!

The most exciting thing I have going on right now is a tomato.. Yes, a tomato! Caleb's mom got me a couple Purple Cherokee Heirloom Tomato plants(my absolute favorite)for mother's day to put in my whiskey barrell..

Our whiskey barrell used to have a pine tree in it. However, I killed it. :( I kill pretty much any plant I put my hands on. That, my friends, is why it's so freaking exciting that I actually have a tomato!!!

See it???

Caleb and I also invested $3 on a cat nip plant for Pepper at Walmart last night. Pepper is slightly addicted to it. We have to keep putting it up on really high places so he can't get to it because I'm afraid he's going to overdose..

Caleb didn't believe me when I said Pepper would eat it. He thought he would just "smell it." Haha.. silly Caleb!

Lastly, Caleb has been pretty slow at work the past few days, so he made this for me while he was bored...

It's kind of hard to see with all our grass, but it's a flower made out of horse shoes. How cute is that??

We are enjoying our summer so much! We have a lot of fun stuff planned and can't wait to go camping and start enjoing our warm (finally!) weather! :)

Our room at the cabin is done in light green and tan with moose all over. We are slowly buying and creating things to decorate the room with. The latest addition is this cute ceramic moose that I made, with the help of my wonderful mother of course.

What a cutie right? He'll look so cute on the shelf in our room at the cabin. Thanks for your help mom! :)

~ Mission Craft Room: Complete ~

I consider myself kind of crafty. I'm pretty sure my love of crafts came from my super, fantasically crafty mom. So I've been dying for a place to craft where I don't have to put everything away right in the middle of something to make dinner or whatever. So I decided to try to make some sort of craft room.

If I were a rich woman, I would have a whole ENTIRE room, all to myself, where I could go and craft until the cows came home. I envision it to look something very similar to this, only even more fabulous and amazing...

Sadly, I am not a rich woman, but I do know how to make do with what I have, so the craft room is compelete, almost...

So, here is the before, just incase you have forgotten what it looked like...

Now keep in mind before you see the after pictures, that I spent very little money, like maybe $20, and that this room is also: a spare bedroom, computer room, and storage area for extra crap Caleb and I seem to need...

My mother-in-law gave me an extra folding table she had for free, and we all know free = automatically awesome. I already had all the storage containers, except for the 12x12 paper one. I kept them in a corner of our kitchen, so really I only had to buy one container. The walls are really bare, but I'm okay with that for right now...

This picture of basically the same thing, I'm just proving that there is still a bed in the room.

Recognize the bookcase? Yes it is the old, ghetto one from the front room that was replaced. I am still planning on painting it, like a mentioned before. Infact, if you look on top of the bookcase, you can see a blue spray paint can. That's what color it's going to turn as soon as I get the ambition to do it. Pretty much the only other purchase I made for the room was the magazine holders, they were super cheap from IKEA. The shoe box on the top currently has ribbon in it. I am patiently waiting for my husband to make a ribbon holder to replace it.. cough, cough.. ;)

This is showing the same thing, it's just proving that there is still a computer in there.

This is supposed to be showing the closet. I'm aware it doesn't show it very well, however I didn't really feel like taking anymore pictures of a room, so this is as good as it gets. The closet is bascially storage for misc. or big craft supplies and all the other things we like to store.

So there you have it! There are a few, little details that need to get finished, but it's pretty much done. Now I have a wonderful place to craft all to myself. Plus, Caleb says I really just like to buy craft supplies and look at them instead of actually use them, well now they're all orgainzed neat and fancy so I can stare at them to my little heart's content.

Oh, but P.S. You know what this room is seriously missing? That's right, you guessed it, a sewing machine! Maybe, just maybe, I'll get one for my birthday. Hint, hint Caleb... ;)

Summer Letters

I also wanted to post a picture of the newest set of letters I got finished making, just for fun! They turned out so cute, so I just had to show them off!

I guess if it can't be summer outside, I can bring a little summer inside right? Although, I did hear it's going to be 80 degrees here tomorrow (YAY) followed by a day of rain and 55 degree weather (BOO), but I guess I can deal with rain, it is spring after all...

My Mom's Memory Quilt

As per my mother's request, here are some pictures of the memory quilt I made for her for Christmas. I am so not a sewer, but Caleb's mom is. She helped me make this beautiful photo memory quilt for my mom. It turned out so awesome!
The pictures just don't do it justice! I'm pretty proud of it,  mostly because I got it finished. All the quilting was done by hand. I'm glad my mom likes it as much as she does because it will probably be the only quilt I ever make! I have a new found respect for all you quilters out there, it's dang hard work!!!
